I closed my studio Friday.

Before you panic, I am still in the photography business.  I do still plan to photograph seniors, families and wedding, corporate and charity events in central Illinois.  As primarily a natural light photographer my sessions typically are on location, whether that be downtown Champaign or Urbana, in a nature setting such as Lake of the Woods or Allerton Park or even destination senior sessions.  I am photographing a local senior in Chicago in March and another local senior and her mother have hired me to travel to Nashville in April for a session.  Destination sessions are an awesome way to create a one of a kind experience that none of their classmates will have.  And my seniors.... whether they are Bulldogs from Mahomet where my studio is located or from any of the other surrounding high schools they are my jam!  I love seniors!  I've had the privilege of photographing seniors from Unity, Judah, St. Thomas Moore, Centennial, Urbana, Mahomet, Tuscola, and have enjoyed working with every single one of them.

And capturing the love of couples on their wedding day, whether it's held locally at Pear Tree Estate or another amazing venue or a destination wedding such as the one we will be photographing in Mexico in a couple short months, is also at the top on my list!

I love my job and do not intend to quit anytime soon.   But it's true.  I turned in the keys to my studio on Friday.  I no longer have my studio/sales space in the basement of Gray Chiropractic building.

I shared this on Snapchat as I was pulling the signs off the door before I turned in my keys Friday.

However, closing those doors is a really great thing!  I no longer have that small office in the basement BECAUSE my studio is expanding.   Effective immediately Sweet Lemonade Photography will be operating in an adorable home zoned for commercial use near the corner of 150 and 47.  Yahoo!  I'm really excited to share more about my new space and the hard work my boys and I have put into the new space but I'll save that for another day.

For now, I just wanted to share the exciting news that my studio will be relocating to a larger space and is being designed so I can photograph in multiple rooms with more of a simplistic, lifestyle feel and I couldn't be more excited.

Want to be one of the first indoor sessions in my new space?  Shoot me a message and let's get it on the calendar.  :-)
